Samba Time...Brazilian Style

Terra Brasilis(http://www.terrabrasilisrestaurant.com/) is a little restaurant in Bridgeport,CT that serves food buffet style and is one of four restaurants I've been several times now, and I must say that their food is good...not astonishing, but good.
The buffet may be a little different that what you're used to; let me explain. You go up, take a plate and they weigh it, then you're given a ticket. Go up, get another plate, rinse, repeat, you get the idea, then the cashier totals you up in the end on your way out. Since food is priced by weight, (fill your plate then put it on the scale)  only take what you will eat.

To start, they have many salad/vegetable offerings.....but you didn't come here for the vegetables, huh? Consistently they have a shrimp salad, fried chicken, fried fish (cod today), black beans and rice, mashed potatoes, etc. They also have a lovely carving station where you can get pork sausages, roasted chicken, roasted chicken with bacon, chicken sausage, steak, roast pork.  Let me say that their roast chicken is probably the best I have had out in a long, long, time. The pork sausages taste just like kolbasi, and the steak is also very good--not prime rib though :)
If you get two plates, it will probably run you around 15 bucks per person.

Also they have a dessert station with flan, cheesecake, coconut cakes and other delicious cake

What about the Katz

Katz's Delicatessen, also known as simply Katz's of New York City is a delicatessen restaurant.
Since its founding in 1888, it has become popular among locals and tourist alike for its pastrami sandwiches and hot dogs both of which are widely considered among New York's best. Also this what the place when the clasic scene from When Sally meet Harry was filmed.

During WWII Katz's encouraged parents to "send a salami to your boy in the army" which became one of the deli's famous catch phrases,Katz is also well known for its photos of famous people eating in Katz's placed along its wall.
Katz's continues its "Send a salami to your boy in the army" to this day. The deli has arranged special international shipping only for U.S. military addresses and has been a source of gift packages to the troops stationed in Afghanistan and Iraq.

So i decided to give it a try.the ordering system here is a little insane and confusing. You receive a yellow ticket, and the various servers/cutters then write what you ordered on said ticket. Its a little confusing to figure out where in the line you go for which food, and what to do with the ticket. The servers were all very nice though, and directed my newb self on how it all works.

After that confusing line, im ready to order, but if you are not decide they let you taste a freshly cut slice of pastrami or the other meat, before you buy the sandwich. It literally melts in your mouth. i got his famous pastrami sandwich and a turkey sandwich.  The pastrami...Oh my god.  thick-cut, warm, and perfectly tender and flavorfull meat,it cames with salad, and pickle.

The turkey sandwich was equally good, actually is turkey breast and is tender and juicy,(not what you expect from a turkey breast) not turkey ham like in other places. You can add mustard for better taste experience.

Altough the food is good and you got like almost 1 pounds of meat i found some downside:
a)Expensive & overpriced - The pastrami was hot and fresh, but 17 bucks for a sandwich seems a bit over priced. Turkey one was 15.
b)Fries are charged apart.
c)Did i mention expensive.  In what other place you can have two sandwich, fries and soda and spend around $45 bucks? in Katz :).

Bring on the Chuleta Kan Kan, Raices Rest. Puerto Rico

Chuletas Kan-Kan ... it just sounds tasty, doesn't it? Well, those of you who know Spanish will recognize the chuleta, or pork chop, part of the dish, but I'm betting not too many people know where the Can Can comes from. Frankly, neither do I, but I know what it is: a pork chop served with ribs and cuero, or fried pork skin.
I saw this restaurant on the Travel Channel and wanted to try it so in my recent trip to Puerto Rico i have the opportunity to eat there.   The decor is bright and homey with pretty murals on the wall, has a very fun country/Caribbean atmosphere.  They serve your meal in traditional bowls and plates. So i  Try the chuleta kan kan, it's amazing. It's the juiciest (not greasy, juicy) pork you'll ever taste. This one weight in like 5 pounds so if you are not a big eater you can share it. I choose for side Mofongo(Mash Plantain). Wow its was so yummy , full of flavor lead in by the garlic. Also the location of this restaurant is a plus, located in Old San Juan, just a walking distance from cruise ship port and hotels so after you dig out in raices you can enjoy the sights of this old  San Juan city.  Oh the price for this food only $16.95. Not Bad ahhh what a pleasure of eat.
